Engineer Johann Daxner takes over Kreuzhuber

Ing. Johann Daxner GmbH was established with the acquisition of Kreuzhuber corporation, a mill manufacturer, on March 1st, 1984. The then 30-year old engineer Johann Daxner took on the 9 employees of that company as well as the responsibility for a business that was going through difficult times. However, due to his continuous hard work and steady development, the company's fortunes were being turned around and a success story began that is lasting to this day.

New construction of the production and assembly building No. I

In 1986, Daxner started with the biggest renovation project in the history of the young company. The aim was to enhance both the functionality and visual appearance of the company building. The construction of the new and bigger production building laid the foundations for high quality standards.
Our history has shown that this extension was only the first of many steps with the objective to keep up with ever-new technological trends and to continuously increase our capacities.

In spring 1988, work began on the full renovation of the office building. The premises were rebuilt from scratch and an additional office for our technical department was created. By the end of that year, Daxner invested in advanced EDP equipment for its commercial department.

A reliable partner for the food industry

Up to that point in time, the business of Ing. Johann Daxner GmbH had been predominantly focused on mill construction. From 1989, the company increasingly operated in the food industry sector. This change of direction proved to be a success since Ing. Johann Daxner GmbH would become the market leader in Austria in this segment over the following years.

With the installation of a CAD system and initially two CAD workstations, Daxner early on invested in EDP-assisted technical planning. One of the first members of the CAD planning team was engineer Josef Wagner who is today Head of Engineering at Daxner.
In 1993, Daxner began its intense cooperation with ESA Steuerungstechnik with the aim to be able to provide complete intelligent solutions for our customers.

Almost 10 years after the company was founded, the number of staff had increased from 9 to 37. The new building allowed us to increase the number of workplaces in the production department and gave us more space to facilitate a seamless production line as well as providing sufficient storage capacity.

The Powtech trade fair in Nuremberg is the leading exhibition in the industry, and we are going to be a part of it! Daxner first exhibited in 1996 and presented the OPTIDOS, small components dosing system, in action. This, our first big showcase, secured business from major companies, which have remained our customer base until today.

Introduction of a continuous ERP system

The introduction of the company's first goods management system was a big step forward with regard to achieving transparency of all our business processes. The system's modules are interconnected so that any information is available within very short periods of time. At the same time, Daxner introduced a system for the logging of staff working time and for operating data collection.

Advantage due to 3D CAD engineering

Advantage due to 3D CAD engineering

Change of perspective, detail views, displaying and hiding of building parts and machines or the placement of cross sections – the dynamics, transparency and flexibility of 3D CAD plant planning provides us with a whole range of new advantages. These advantages have convinced us that it would be wise to invest in this new technology, which we are doing in 2003 when we make the highly involving changeover from 2D to 3D CAD systems as a pioneer in our industry. Each complex task is worked on by a dedicated project team, which coordinates the planning synchronously from different 3D CAD workstations. The image shows engineer Josef Wagner, our Head of Engineering.

In 2005, graduated engineer Christian Daxner (M.S.) joined the family firm as a second generation manager. His international training (Master of Science in the US) and experience (Key Account Manager for a Japanese corporation) make him ideally suited to assist his father Johann in leading a team, which by now has grown to 60 employees, on its continued road to success. Christian Daxner takes over the responsibility for the global business and initiates a continuous increase of the export share of the business.
